Today our session was based around both practical Autumnal Floristry – flower arranging, poetry and rhyme. Before the Gardening session Jo brought in Autumn vegetables, Pumpkin, Butternut squash and a Mango with an array of autumn colours. We talked about the wreath and autumn leaves. Caroline brought us Gerbera, Dalia and ‘Perci’ to compliment the evergreen foliage from the garden – which we arranged in a Pumpkin presented with Oasis. After making three table decorations a display was made in the conservatory and in the dining room. We finished our session with Refreshments and Poetry at which Olga was able to say the Highwayman and The Raggy Dog – Shaggy Dog which was learnt in schooling years!
