The prime objective of our home is to provide a homely environment that promotes and fosters health and wellbeing.
On admission of a resident, an assessment of need is performed by a senior member of the care team, from which a Care Plan is created.
Residents, their relatives and doctors are offered and encouraged to participate in the drafting of their Care Plan. A review is conducted monthly, unless changes in the resident’s condition necessitate more frequent reviews.

When new residents join the home, we recommend that they transfer to our local Doctor’s surgery; Porter Brook Surgery on Sunderland Street. This surgery offeres weekly visits as standard but also an “as required” service for urgent GP visits.

In case of illness, relatives are informed and kept updated on the patient’s recovery. If family members wish to stay more local whilst their relative is ill, we can suggest suitable accommodation for them.

Residents using the home for Respite or Convalescent purposes can be assisted by a community rehabilitation team to prepare them for discharge home should they require it.
