We had such an enjoyable day trip to Cleethorpes on the 12th of July.
The weather was perfect for us, not too hot and no rain. The attendees this time were Mary Murphy and her daughter Julie, Pam and her daughter Deborah, Margaret and her husband Terry, Janet and her son Adrian, Carley and Marjory, Vicky and our friends Peggy and Ruth. We travelled to the station by mini bus. We got there 40 minutes early, so we sat at the station cafe and had a drink. We had a pleasant journey on the train, where we enjoyed chatting to each other and having a giggle. When we arrived in Cleethorpes we went and sat in the beer garden of the Wave pub and had some drinks and snacks. We had a trip on the Lollipop express that took us up and down the sea front. We had a sing along, pointed out landmarks, and waved to passers-by. We explored the pier gardens and enjoyed looking at the beautiful flowers and Pam made friends with a “donkey”. We had a delicious fish and chip meal at the Ocean bar restraint, followed by ice cream. We were left with plenty of time to explore the pier, beach, arcades and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip!
