We had a wonderful trip out to Dronfield Civic Hall to see the Dementia friendly showing of a film called Victoria and Abdul, a true story about queen Victoria which was only discovered in 2010 when Abdul’s journals were found!
We travelled there on a SCT mini bus driven by the wonderful Richard who does the job voluntarily! The weather was lovely. Vicky and Becky took Margaret Seal, Peggy, Sidney and Norah. We had planned on taking more residents but unfortunately a few were ill and didn’t feel up to it. We also had our wonderful volunteer Rita accompany us on this trip. We arrived a little early, but we were allowed to go in and eat our picnic lunch while the event planners set up. In the interval we had tea and cake and looked at books and reminisced about the 60’s. We really enjoyed this event and look forward to the next one which is in June!
