Gardening, wildlife and plant pot painting

This morning many of us chose to watch tributes to the Duke of Edinburgh on television but we had a variety of gardening and wildlife activities during the day for those who wanted to join in. Stephen found a good home for his bee house Christmas present in the garden and helped Helen to fill the bird feeder. George and Stephen had a look to see which nest box the blue tit was favouring and George deadheaded his own primroses. This afternoon we planted Cosmos, Cornflowers and Asters in big pots, which Helen will nurture at home until they have germinated and then bring back for everyone to enjoy. We also painted plant pots for sweet peas. Mildred commented how lovely it was to get her hands dirty in the soil.
