Big Garden Birdwatch

This morning seven of us chose to join Helen with the Big Garden Birdwatch. We sat in the small lounge where we could see the bird feeders that we made last week and the feeders that Stephen’s daughter charlotte made him for Christmas. They are being enjoyed by quite a few birds as well as cheeky grey squirrels and we were lucky enough to see a blackcap too!  We had a look at the new bird books which play the birds song. They went down really well and we also watched the birds on television with Chris Packham. Helen was really amazed and pleased about how enthusiastic and interested everyone was and also at some people’s knowledge and the questions that they asked. We are lucky to have such beautiful old conifers in the garden, which attract many species in to feed and shelter in the winter. We enjoy looking out on them.
