Burns afternoon

It is Burns night tonight so we had an afternoon of Scottish music and Burns poetry. George read us some verses of Wee timorous beastie in his wonderful Scottish accent and we had a few other poems through the afternoon. We had a bit of a ceilidh to a Scottish CD where Jenny, Keith, Olga and Olive enjoyed a good dance and others clapped along or chair danced, followed by singing Auld Lang Syne together when some of us held hands. Then we watched a military tattoo and some Highland games. All in all we had a lot of fun. We finished off with the traditional “ neeps, tatties and Haggis” for those who wanted to try it.
