This afternoon Helen got out some old items donated by a friend of our volunteer Charlotte and went around the residents asking them if they would like to have a look. The most popular item was The Girls’ Crystal album from 1959 and a lot of the ladies’ face’s lit up when they saw this with everyone wanting to have a look.  The old sewing patterns were also popular and prompted a lot of discussion about making our own clothes especially during the war. We had Victorian cards, postcards and old 45” vinyl and Stephen enjoyed an old DIY book of woodwork. The whole activity made Helen feel old as all the items were part of her childhood too!
