It was a rainy day when we set off for the Memory Cafe but we didn’t let that put us off and used umbrellas over the wheelchairs which worked pretty well. A few less of us this time, due to illness, but we were happy to meet Nur who works in dementia cafes throughout Sheffield and brought along some of her leaflets and chatted to everyone about the work she does. We were also happy to have Zion (an 18 year old student who wants to spend a couple of sessions with us on work experience) plus a puppy called Cocoa. We played a “touchy feely” game where we had to be blindfolded and put our hands into a box and guess the contents. We had some interesting answers and Lillian managed to get them all right! We enjoyed a tasty lunch together and a guitar sing-a-long session before heading back to the care home. Everyone said they had enjoyed themselves very much.
