Pamper Day

We have decided to incorporate a "Pamper Day" with our hairdresser visit. This has proved very successful so far, with many of our ladies enjoying having a makeover and wearing a pretty scarf for their photo shoot. Even the chaps like to wear a posh tie and cap.

Gina – massage

Gina has been coming to the Hallamshire for many years and is skilled in massage therapy and Reiki healing. 

Karaoke or Guitar singalong

Main lounge Main lounge

Fabulous Karaoke session with staff and residents or Tracy playing guitar and leading a sing-a-long session with song sheets and audience participation. 

Manicure/hand massage

Manicures and hand massages are offered to any willing residents on a weekly basis. This can have a very calming effect and the perfect excuse for a good natter. 

Friday Film Afternoons

We now show a film every Friday afternoon in the downstairs lounge. All residents and family members are welcome to come along. Event includes sweet treats and hot drinks/snacks. 

Chair exercise, dancing or short walk outdoors

Exercise is a very important part of life. Some love to stay seated and do chair aerobics, others like to "sit-dance" a few like to get up and boogie! For others a short walk to a local park or the shops is very beneficial. 

Baking

Tracy or Vicky will be holding a baking session in the afternoon.

Outing to St Marks church

Tracy will be taking a small group in car to St Marks Church, Broomhill for morning worship. They will stay afterward for light refreshments and be back in time for lunch. 

Little Acorns Toddler Group

Little Acorns Toddler Group will be having fun and games in the main lounge for an hour or so, hopefully every fortnight.

Canal Boat Trip

We will be sampling the Yorkshire Waterways canal with room for 12 people only. Leaving at 11.30am in SCT minibus, with a look round the museum first, picnic and then a boat ride for 40 mins from 2.30pm.

Medieval Mayhem Toddler Group

A small group of us will be meeting up with Oaks & Acorns Toddler Group for a morning of fun and games at a soft play centre called Medieval Mayhem. We will stay there for lunch.

We will be holding another "Oaks & Acorns" Toddler group in the small lounge with a few parents present. A time to bond together and have fun.

Gardening with Caroline

Caroline Cook has now established her Gardening Club which will take place in the downstairs lounge (with ready access to the garden) once a month from 1.30 - 3pm. Everyone welcome to come and join in.

Outing in car or walking to the Jesus Centre for hot drinks/biscuits in the cafe and then into the meeting area from 11am to Sunday Morning worship, songs, bread and wine and sermon.

Memory Cafe

Tracy runs a Memory cafe event at the Parlour Cafe, Jesus Centre from 11.30-2.30pm, usually once a fortnight. We have fun and games and enjoy a meal together. We are pleased to have Nigel Bane come and sing to us to help celebrate 3 birthdays - Lois, Nellie and Wendy (all close together). Everyone welcome to join us for an hour's entertainment with birthday cake and hot drinks afterwards.

Holy Communion from St Marks

Vollunteers from St Marks Church visiting to give residents a short Holy Communion Service in downstairs lounge. Involves singing of a few hymns. All friends and family members welcome to come along.
