We had a very special opportunity to attend the annual Alzheimer’s Society Carols at Christmas – Service this evening, at Sheffield Cathedral. Nineteen of us set off with staff, Vicky and Jo, five families accompanying and volunteers, Betty and Steven. We were welcomed with a mixture of refreshments consisting of mince pies, both non-alcoholic and warm mulled wine which was welcomed as the evening was dry but very cold! The performances mixed with speakers and stories entertained us with Hand bell Ringers, Singing for the Brain and Sheffield Community, two choirs, and the Sheffield Youth Orchestra. The greatest things fellowship and the chance to sing along with the carols contained in the programme – just been involve.
