Residents helped to decide what we wanted to bake from the Bero book today. Maureen was happy to have a wheelchair ride out to the local shops for some cherries for the Melting Moments but unfortunately they didn’t stock them so we chose some gummy bears to use for decoration instead. Staff set up the activity and a small group were happy to take part in making biscuits for teatime. Irene had a look at a very old fashioned Bero book and discussed some of the recipes with staff and she remembered making some in her younger years. Other residents were drawn into the conversation and talked about what they like to bake. The biscuits cooked very quickly and some helped decorate them with a blob of icing and a gummy bear. Looked and smelt delicious!
