Residents enjoyed being part of a small congregation to celebrate the life of Jesus. We sang a few fun, action songs together, accompanied on the guitar. These acted as an icebreaker to try and overcome any sleepiness. Staff asked for any requests and Lilian chose the hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful” and we sang this together and then discussed the words afterwards, naming some of our favourite parts of God’s Creation. Lilian asked for the poem “Trees” to be read out and staff obliged. This went very well with others reciting along. Staff read out other popular poems and many residents knew parts of these also, having learnt them at school. Other requests for poems were taken and we had a lovely time of reflection and reminiscence together. We did a quiz about flowers which the residents enjoyed. Clarice and David both did exceptionally well at the quiz. We said the Lord’s Prayer together and ended by looking through the Godly Play box, choosing an item each to admire and talk about.
