We enjoyed a drive out to St Marks church for their special Remembrance Sunday Service. Good to have Marion Peck, Olga and Sheila attend. We sat near the front to make sure we could see and hear all that was going on
The poppy flower display near the pulpit was lovely. Marion sat with her old friend, Mary, whom she has known for 55 years! Afterwards, we chatted about the service over coffee and biscuits. A few of us gathered in the small lounge at the Hallamshire after lunch to have a short service of our own with a couple of popular poems read out by Pamela, two minutes silence and ended with a prayer from Tracy. Everyone was glad to wear a poppy and share about their loved ones who fought and died in the war.
