Today is Valerie Loft’s birthday and Yo Tozer Loft came to sing a lovely mix of easy jazz and blues music for us, with Ryan Taylor accompanying on the keyboard. Yo is Valerie’s daughter in law. It was just the thing for a morning party as residents are often quite sleepy at this time and it seemed to relax everyone nicely. A few people chose to have a little dance or a chair dance but mostly we just enjoyed watching and listening. Valerie liked her cake, which was baked and decorated for her by Marylin and we all had a little sherry with our morning drinks to celebrate. In the afternoon Valerie spent some time with her family in a gazebo visit.
