Now that autumn is approaching, we made our first bird feeders of the season to help the many birds that visit the garden stock up before winter. We used fallen apples from Helen’s garden with raisins and sunflower hearts to fill the holes with and added perches made from sticks. It was a bit of a messy activity and it took people a while to get into it but once they did, Eve Margaret P and Olga got very wrapped up in what they were doing and Pam, Stephen and Peggy helped too. Although the end re results didn’t look pretty, we feel sure that the birds will appreciate them. It got people talking about the birds that visit their own gardens.
