We discussed the life history of Robert Burns and enjoyed learning that he wrote Auld Land Syne and how this became popular and used in many different cultures, such as in Japan stores that are about to close for the day play the tune of “Auld Lang Syne” to let patrons know it’s time to leave. We enjoyed a Quiz and learned many interesting facts about Robert Burns, we also enjoyed a Poetry reading by some of the residents of Robert Burns’ popular poems and watched some poems being performed on the TV.
