Residents enjoyed a gardening activity this morning and we looked at books and laminated A3 information information sheets on planting and nature. Residents were pleased to look at the progress of the cucumber plants and baby cucumbers have begun to form. These have been placed back in the greenhouse and we will keep an eye on them as they grow. We repotted some sea lavender plants and have placed these in the greenhouse also. We will plant them out onto the decking once they are fully established. Staff also took pictures round to individual rooms for a one-to-one chat. Residents enjoyed looking at and smelling vases of flowers – sweet william, pink roses, carnations, etc. Wonderful sensory experience.
