Families enjoyed a wonderful Winter Fair together in the Green Lounge this morning. The booking in system worked well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, chatting to each other over hot drinks and cake. We had 5 entries for the Cake Competition – Tracy and Edith (Christmas cake), Gordon (mince pies), Chris (Victoria sandwich), Dan (gluten free lemon drizzle) and Rita (chocolate roulade. Many chose to have a selection of all five and the winner was unanimous – Dan for his lemon drizzle cake. He wasn’t there but his prize of a box of chocolates is going to be passed on by his family. (Dan is Clarice’s grandson). The different stalls and tombola were well supported and we raised well over £100 for the Activities Fund. Thank you to all the families who donated stuff and supported the event in person and made this a very special occasion.
