We had a wonderful outing with thirteen of us in total i.e. seven residents – Edith, Clarice, Peggy, Lilian, Kenneth, Eddie and Keith and four family members – Peter (Peggy’s son), Clarice’s daughters (Gill and Janet) and Eddie’s daughter (Karen), plus two staff. We were particularly grateful to the staff at the museum who helped us to navigate our way around and provided us with the loan of two wheelchairs, which made a huge difference. We started off by having a cup of tea and biscuits, sat on benches overlooking the park. We enjoyed a walk towards the duck pond before heading to the museum for the opportunity to explore and remember. We enjoyed all of the exhibitions, especially the Street Life one, which took us down “Memory Lane”. We booked the picnic area above the museum and had a fabulous spread prepared by the Hallamshire chef. We had a grand day out in the park and museum and the residents were discussing how much they had enjoyed themselves well into the evening.
