Today we experienced water beads for the first time! They are very therapeutic! They start off as tiny, hard, dehydrated beads. They are made from water absorbing polymer, as they absorb the water they grow. It does take quite a few hours for them to get from dry beads to fully expanded, so not for the impatient! They feel like they are made out of jelly. Vicky put them into a round tub and let us have a go, one by one. We put our hands and let them run through our fingers and had a good squish. Some people didn’t like it as the water was cold, so next time we will add some warm to it. Vicky is thinking maybe next time, she will put them in a tray with pebbles and shells to add to the sensory experience.
