We held a quiet church service in the small lounge this morning. It was good to have Kieran join us (a young man who is volunteering twice a week to gain some work experience) and Mildred’s friend, Joy. We sang a few songs at the start, Tracy led a short liturgical service using large print books, so we could speak out the prayers together, Tracy read out a Psalm and we ended with a couple more songs. Joy suggested that we use a CD next time which would boost up the volume and may help to encourage more folk to join in singing. What a good idea! We looked at some beautiful laminated pictures (based on the Psalms) and discussed these, whilst we enjoyed refreshments together.
