We had an enjoyable time at our inter-generational toddler group (Little Acorns) this morning, with 5 children, 9 residents/day care, 3 parents/carers, a volunteer and Vicky attending. We started with imaginary play and then had fun with the empathy doll, building blocks, hobby horses and teddy bears. We had a sing along session, using musical instruments. We made some Valentines Day cards, using our fingerprints to make love hearts. Liam enjoyed playing with the play-dough (Ya never too old!). We enjoyed some fruit treats and juice at snack time, followed by some bubble popping. Vicky read us a story called “A Windy Day”, which was very apt!. Jenny shared a discussion book with the children and discussed colours and objects that they recognised. Today seemed to go too fast! We look forward to the next session which is in a fortnight’s time, 24th February.
