We borrowed another reminiscence box from the Montgomery Theatre and were happy to look at objects related to “Wash Day”. There was a ponch which Olga instantly recognised and named. Marion Kennedy smiled when she saw the advertisement and said she remembered Pears soap but it didn’t suit her. Elsie and her daughter Angie spent a long time looking through the Wartime book and reminiscing. Tricia and Margaret Saunders enjoyed this book too. Margaret Seal said she remembered her mother using a ponch and using newspaper like a giant bib to protect her clothing from the water.
