We fancied a change from Cleethorpes by train so hired an SCT minibus and went to Bridlington instead. Everyone said they much preferred this as overall the journey was shorter and less complicated and only took around 2 hours. We were able to park on the Harbour and enjoyed sitting there for a drink when we arrived, watching all the hustle and bustle and the holiday makers. It was a very hot day but the sea breeze helped to cool us all down a little. It was great to meet Steve and Rita there, who travelled in car and helped out. We enjoyed a walk along the pier and an excellent meal at the Busy Bees Fish Restaurant on Chapel Street. It was Steve’s birthday so we got the staff to make him an ice cream sundae complete with sparkler and we sang Happy Birthday to him. George (Tricia’s son) and Steve got on really well together. Everyone said what a great time they’d had.
