We had a group of 15 children and their mums from the Muslim community come to run some activities today. It was a one off, as our toddler group members were mostly all going to be away this bank holiday Monday. We had 7 of our resident’s present. The group started with speaking about their religious values and how it is important to respect and look after our elders etc. Aisha who was running the group read three stories and then we had a song time, including action songs like ring o ring o roses, which the resident’s joined in with and enjoyed. The high light I think was the craft session, Where the children paired up with the residents to make blossom tree pictures using paints and cotton bud bundles. It was lovely to see how they worked together on their projects. We ended with healthy snacks and water to drink and lots of chatting.
