Vicky and Julie took a small group to the monthly Crucible Tea Dance. The building had been trimmed up for Christmas and looked beautiful. The room was set out slightly different today, with two low, round tables with comfy seats, making a much more informal atmosphere.
Jill kindly bought some red and green Christmas bows and put one on each of us to join in with the festive feel. Nigel sang an array of songs, from Elvis to Christmas songs and the residents responded well to him. We saw Berta and her carer there and was very excited to see us. Berta’s carer was very brave and got up and sang a Bette Midler song in the interval! We also made new friends and chatted to some students who were filming. We all had a dance at some point and even Margaret Seal did some sit-dancing. Tea and scones were enjoyed by all at the interval. A great time was had by all.
