DESCRIPTION:The care home runs a Memory cafe event at the Parlour Cafe\, Jesus Centre\, usually once a month. We aim to leave the care home at 11am and be back for 2pm. We have fun and games and enjoy a meal together (costing £4.00 for a two course meal). Family members are welcome to meet us there or walk down with us. Some travel in car and some like to walk or travel in a wheelchair\, where possible. Tracy brings along her guitar and leads us in a sing-a-long session at the end.

DESCRIPTION:Helen decided that everyone needed livening up a bit\, so we got the song sheets out and sang a mixture of songs from wartime favourites\, to old classics and silly songs\, so that there was something to suit everyone’s taste. Quite a few people enjoyed a good sing\, although not always at the same time! Some people preferred a chair dance though\, or just to listen. Afterwards we watched some old TV singers such as Val Doonican\, which went down well and Helen visited those residents who were in their rooms  who all enjoyed a good sing or a chair dance too. \n  \n  \n
