The Crisps Packet Project – 02.02.2022
Here at the Hallamshire Care Home we have been having conversations about waste and recycling, and thinking about ways in which we can be more environmentally conscious. We have found a great project we can get involved with – The Crisps Packet Project. The project gives new life to one use plastics and helps people that have nothing and who are living on the streets.
The idea of the project is to save our empty crisps packets, cut them open, make them flat and give them a clean. Once we have done this, we package them up and send them off to the Crisps Packet project, where our old crisps packets will be made into coffee pouches, blankets or rucksacks.
This morning we got busy and prepared our first lot of empty crisps packets to be sent off, we enjoyed having a chat while we cut and washed the packets and all agreed it was for a great cause.
